The paint used on all our shutters is specially formulated to give a hardwearing lustrous finish to keep your installation looking amazing for many years. We also offer a colour matching service to some of the most popular palettes on the high street.
Our Range of Hinge Colours
Love Shutters offer a choice of 6 different hinge colours so that whichever colour of shutter you choose, you can be certain that there is a hinge to suit the colour and style of your shutters.
The standard louvre size in the UK is 64mm. This is our biggest selling louvre size closely followed by the 47mm louvre. The most popular choice is to fit a smaller louvre size (47mm/64mm) on smaller windows and to fit the larger louvre sizes (89mm/114mm) on the larger windows.
However, you can break with convention and we have seen some amazing results fitting larger louvre sizes on smaller windows to achieve a totally unique look. Our experienced surveyors will be able to guide you through the process and advise on which louvre size will best complement each particular window.
Our biggest selling Shutters are 64mm closely followed by the 47mm size. We strongly recommend the 64mm slat here at Love Shutters UK because of its traditional yet contemporary look.
Hidden or Visible Control Rods
The above pictures show a visible offset or centre control rod which is used to open and close the louvres. The central control rod is generally more suited to the more traditional or conservative shutter look.
We can also supply any of our range of shutters with a ‘concealed’ or ‘hidden’ control rod function.
The hidden control rod provides a ‘cleaner and more contemporary’ look to the shutters.
There is an additional 10% charge for the hidden tilt rod option for the simple reason that these shutters come with a concealed mechanism built into one side of the shutter. This costs more to manufacture than the visible rod but it does have some additional benefits such as allowing more light to permeate through the window when the louvres are opened as well as the fact that a hidden tilt rod is generally regarded as more aesthetically pleasing to the eye.
Our experienced surveyor will be able to assist you in making a choice between the visible or hidden tilt rod to take into account both your budget and the style of your windows and home.
Our Range of Solid Shutters
Love Shutters are able to offer a choice of solid shutters which are only available in our Winchester and Westminster Ranges. We are also able to offer a part solid/part louvred shutter as shown below.
The solid range of shutters are ideal for those looking to completely draught-proof their windows or those looking for the ultimate in privacy and blocking out the light completely.
Our experienced surveyor will be able to advise on the suitability of these specialist solid shutters as they will not be suitable for all windows.
